Water leaking under the kitchen sink

Frank's Mr. Plumber Case Studies: Water leaking under the kitchen sink

Challenge

The customer is concerned about the water appearing under the upstairs bathroom sink.

Solution

The technicians arrived to access the situation. They needed to open up the wall under the bathroom sink for location. A technician noticed that the bathroom sink trap was not connected and the sink pop up assembly was also leaking along with a crack in the stack.

The technician then determined they should to check the downstairs bathroom as well to see how far the stack was cracked. They proceeded to remove the toilet and sink and opened up the wall. The technicians determined that the stack need to be replaced from 36" off the basement floor to the upstairs bathroom.

The technicians removed the old cast iron stack and replaced with new PVC pipe. By doing this the leaking issue was resolved.
